Well, we decided to do house chores today, so we went out for one of those quick, hard rides where you get a lot of bang for your buck, but you are left very tired afterwards. We started from the house, climbed Cedar Hill to the top, then headed down to the Casino and back up Tramway. We did 3 sets of 3-20/40 intervals–ouch! The first interval always seems not so bad…”hey, I can do this, this ain’t bad”, you think to yourself. Then the 2nd set comes and you think, “okay, I’m really not wanting to do this anymore, but what the heck” and by the 2nd 20/40 you’re started to feel like you are gonna die! By the time the 3rd set came up, I had to really convince myself that I needed to do this.
At the end of the intervals, we continued on at a good pace and cooled off a bit on Tramway. Went back to the house and did the usual sprint up the road back to the house. Matt won today…drats!!!
Anyway, if you look at my profile, you can see the 3 mini spikes (in red) of 3 20/40s I did riding up Tramway on the Giant. Ignore the mess at the end. I turned my heartrate monitor back on after the ride and forgot to reset it, so it’s clocking a lot of “dead” activity while I was monkeying around in the garage trying to get my cadence and speed sensors set up.

If I saw a rhythm like that on a Cardiac monitor I would shock it. Just Kidding
It does look like I was dying quickly, huh?!?
