Santa Fe Century

Did the Santa Fe Century with Paige on Sunday. The morning started out beautiful. The temps were reasonable with partly cloudy skies most of the day. I got a short bit of rain, but nothing too bad.
This is a super fast century with only 4640 foot of elevation climbing. It was great for me since the week before I was visiting the parents and didn’t bring the bike along. Granted, I hit the gym 3 days and rode the stationary bike, but it’s not the same.
Saw many people that I knew at the ride, so it became social at the break spots. Erik, Ed, Eddie, Jackie, and some coworkers are a handful of the folks I saw. I rode this solo (no drafting) with the hope of getting a good workout in, which I did. While I didn’t take efficient breaks, I definitely got the heart rate up during the time on the road.
No pics yet, but I may get some from Paige later on!

Hey Jeni! I didn’t see you on Sunday! The Pedal Queens did the century as a training ride, by practicing team work and paceline efforts. It was my first ever 100 mile ride :o) We rode strong with 7-8 core members, in about 5 hours. The only hard thing was getting up that early on my Sunday!
