Riding with a Friend

I rode with a good friend of mine today; hadn’t done a ride with this buddy in a long time…

I don’t know what it is about the Kind singlespeed, but when I take it out on the trail, it turns an ordinary ride into something magical. I rode solo today in the Foothills and [...]

Matt had his NMES Double Boundary ride on Saturday, with 21 people showing up at The Bean, 6:30 AM, to ride some epic trail. My ride started at 8:30 AM at The Bean.
Our ride (the Single Boundary), while much shorter than the Double Boundary, was still an epic as well. Our fearless ride leaders were [...]

Sad News

Another cyclist was killed in Albuquerque. His wife was injured as well. All the news reports that this was “just an accident”. An investigation is still being conducted. The latest news indicates that the driver had crested a hill, swerved to miss an on-coming car.
The accident occurred on Route 66, a very popular spot for [...]

Santa Fe Trails

You can’t beat Santa Fe for a great day of riding. It’s got to be one of my favorite spots to mountain bike! Matt and I headed up there for a Sunday ride, and it was great, as usual. Both of us had done a hard ride on Saturday, so Sunday was the Matt [...]

Only 33 have started the race…
BLANKS CABIN - Aid Station 1
I wake up this morning to check the stats. [...]

He’s in!

Matt has been invited to race the Vapor Trail 125. This is an invitation only race with a 30 person cap, although it looks like they’re accepting 35 this year. I’m really excited for Matt, and unbelievably proud of the mountain biking and cycling accomplishments he’s made, especially this year. He puts in the hard [...]

Paliza!

Matt looked up the term “paliza” online. It means, “thrashing, beating, walloping”. Appropriate (for me, at least)!

The two of us got back into our Jemez exploration mode, and decided to ride Paliza Canyon today. It was a wonderful day to be outside. We’d ridden Cerro Pelado a while back, and Matt wanted to do [...]

Old Stomping Grounds

Paige and I did a road ride today from the house. We biked out to the Morning Star Grocery near Oak Flats on NM 337. I haven’t been on this route in a long time, almost 2 years! I forgot how nice it is to ride out here. The traffic was surprisingly low for the [...]
