Last weekend we had a nice hike with Tanya and Oso. We hit the high country to stay cool.

Jia Li decided she would rather chew her hat instead of wear it.

We had Lyn, Rita, and Kasen visit for the weekend too. Jia Li and Kasen had a great time together as usual.

Jia Li has been eating up a storm. She has had rice cereal, sweet potatoes, avocado, and banana. Her favorite so far is sweet potato. In fact, I made my first batch of baby food sweet potato. It was pretty easy and cost me about a third of what I would pay for pre-made food.

She always starts out clean before the meal…

Jia Li picked out some new toys from the kitchen recently. She needed something to keep her busy while I worked out in the garage. Her choice? A wood spatula and a BWR water bottle.

Kind of ditto to your comment on my blog … I still read a few hippie blogs including yours, just not as regularly. But I feel a kinship for a few people that I haven’t even met, in particular people like you who have had a PAO and continued to pursue your athletic endeavors. It’s inspiring that you almost never mention your hips.
I realize you are on the western side of Colorado … hope the fires don’t come your way. My old stomping grounds in C. Springs are under evacuation. It looks very scary there.
Keep enjoying baby-hood! She’s just adorable!
I made all of Sydney”s baby food also. Went by the book Super BabyFood. She is a beauty. Have a great summer
Hey Jeni, that comment is from Wendy. Ooops, must have been logged in under Jims account.
Terri, send some rain, please.
Wendy, either you or Jim sent us the Super Babyfood book….thanks! I used it to figure out what I need for making the home made stuff.
So sick of rain here — wish I could send it your way.
My thought is a hip would react to carrying additional weight during pregnancy and then carrying the baby around after. They are heavy little creatures! Then be fine once you aren’t doing as much carrying. I know when I carry a heavy pack or even a purse around I feel it in my hips. I have had some new pain which I don’t want to mention on my blog because I don’t want to scare anyone considering PAO. I think I just overdid it hiking and walking on the beach and oh yeah, jumping in the sand. So it’s time for a bit of rest for me this week ….
